Hypodensity Right Hepatic Lobe. This description is used usually in ultrasound or a CT scan report to describe an abnormality which could be a serious issue like a cancer or a disseminated infection within a liver arising from the liver itself or from another organ in the abdomen or elsewhere. The pain is usually in the upper-right part of the abdomen. On rare occasions a patient bleeds into the cyst experiencing sudden severe pain in the upper right quadrant and shoulder. There is no biliary dilatation.
Several pulmonary nodules that are calcified are indicative for old healed lesions. Sometimes these cysts need to be drained or removed. Otherwise liver is within normal limits. Other CT features determine the level of suspicion. 2 An FNH lesion can grow bigger or smaller but regardless of changes to its size it does not become cancerous. Some small hypodensities seen in the liver are nonspecific.
Its very rare in the US.
Some small hypodensities seen in the liver are nonspecific. They are typically located in the medial segment of the left lobe of the liver near the falciform ligament. Hypodense means that it is less dense or less attenuating than normal liver and looks darker than normal liver on the scan. Liver cysts are thin-walled cavities filled with fluid that usually appear singly and do not impair the functioning of the liver. This small mass might be either cyst or hemangioma. They provide greater detail of internal organs than traditional X.
